With this new life, Shinnok discovered many things about himself he had not known before. Namely, that he liked sweet things. Being a god, food was not a requirement for him. But much like sleep, Shinnok had learned to appreciate the little things. It began with small things, like seeing Raiden enjoy some steamed dumplings or the kombat kids licking this cold creamy substance off of cones. “What is it you have there?” he asked them one day. “Ice cream.” said Kung Jin. Shinnok cocked an eyebrow as he eyed the off white treat. “You wanna try some?” the Shaolin offered. Genuinely curious, Shinnok mimicked the motions he had seen the young ones do and lapped his tongue over the ice cream. Taken aback by the coldness, he almost jerked the iced treat off the cone as he pulled back. “Cold.” Shinnok said through chilled lips. “Sorry! You okay?” Kung Jin asked, worried. Taking a moment, Shinnok let the ice cream warm in his mouth before swirling in about. It was sweet, creamy and very nice. The
"Where are you going, looking like that?" Raiden asked as he looked over his former Elder God boyfriend. Dressed all in black with dark shades of red, Shinnok stood facing the bathroom mirror, adjusting his makeup. "To a concert." said Shinnok as he put the finishing touches on his eye makeup. He wore a dark red suit with skulls embroidered into the fabric. His dress shirt and tie were immaculate as well as his top hat and shoes. "Are you certain it isn't a funeral?" Raiden looked uncertain. Shinnok only smiled. "Yes. Cassandra was kind enough to introduce me to mortal music, and I found a few artists very much to my liking." Shinnok reached into his jacket pocket and removed a ticket that read 'The Sisters of Mercy'. "I'm going to see them tonight. Care you join me, love?" Shinnok gave Raiden that smolder that the thunder god just couldn't refuse. "Am I required to dress like this?" "Only if you don't want to stand out." Shinnok smiled. Sighing, Raiden worked his magic and
"I must remember to thank Cassandra for the gift." Raiden said as he and Shinnok gently swayed to the deep crooning of Leonard Cohens 'I'm Your Man'. "These little trinkets the mortals have created are amusing, I will admit." Shinnok spoke of the iPod and Bluetooth speaker Cassie had gotten them as a kind of 'marriage gift'. Though they weren't married by any legal means, no one could deny that the ex-elder god and thunder god were definitely living in matrimony. Raidens' hand went further down Shinnoks slender back before gently dipping the man downward. Shinnok giggled warmly and gave his beloved a smile. The thunder gods long white hair fell past his shoulders, gently tickling Shinnoks nose. The paler man made a face and swatted at the offending follicles before Raiden lifted Shinnok and placed him on the counter. Leaning in, Raiden took Shinnoks lips softly against his, to which the elder god returned. They held each other and kissed until neither had breath. Neither god had

"I want this..." Shinnok, Lord of the Dead and eldest vampire, looked down upon his mortal lover from his obsidian throne. "I've told you before of the consequences..." "Do I have anything more to lose, Shinnok?" Raiden was tired, broken and aimless. His beloved sons, Lui Kang and Kung Lao, dead. His brother Fuujin, dead. His home, burned to the ground. The ones he had utter trust in abandoned him when he needed them most. "Give me eternity with you. Take me away from all this death." Raiden fell to his knees before the vampire king, taking his pale hand in his and kissing it pleadingly. The mans eyes were dry from crying hard and long, his voice hoarse from sobbing. Life was too cruel, too harsh, and it had taken all from his save Shinnok. Shinnok frowned, understanding Raidens sorrow but still hesitant. Would he truly be happy with life eternal, to never again see the sun or feel truth warmth? The ancient vampire knew too well that regret. "My dear, my love..." Shinnok
Raymond Lei couldn't believe how lucky he was as he lay sweaty and entwined with his new boyfriend, Sid Noxford. The smaller man was comfortably sprawled out on Raymonds chest, silvery-grey hair messy and sticking to the bigger mans skin. "You were magnificent, darling." Shinnok complimented in a breathless voice. The wait had been worth it to the former elder god. The courtship, the seduction, and then the culmination. Raiden was once more his, body and soul. And Raymond Lei still possessed the same soul as his former self. He was kind, gentle, at times awkward and at times a bit over enthusiastic. But Shinnok was more than happy to indulge his love. An antiques dealer was a perfect compliment to a history teacher and enthusiast. Perhaps fate or something was truly a benevolent being? "Not bad for a guy out of practice." Raymond smiled and turned over, making Shinnok lay face to face with him. "But honestly, thank you." "For what, dearest?" Shinnok grinned and played with
"I have crossed oceans of time to find you..." The former god stared out through the crowded street, greens eyes dead set on the man at the coffee truck. Long black hair tied into a loose pony tail, a second hand suit with second hand shoes. But the man turned Shinnok knew, it was him. Those eyes and cheekbones were the same no matter the age. "At last..." Getting up from his seat outside the cafe, Shinnok made his way through the bustling crowd, the people stepping out of his way as if fate himself were making this meeting possible. Raiden, or the man formally known as Raiden, was doing his best to keep his coffee and a stack of papers together before a strong gust of wind caused Raiden to loose his grip and drop his cup. Shinnok dropped and his arm shot ahead, catching the still hot cup in his hand. "Here you are." he said as he stood up again. "Oh my god, thank you." said the other man, with the same voice Shinnok knew from lifetimes ago. "I'm sorry. I'm late for my lecture and it
Power crackles under firm skin, the scent of rain and rocks, my senses happily drowning. Shinnok jotted down little lines of poetry as he sketched. The day was lovely and clear so the former Elder God decided to break out his sketchbook and take in the lovely natural scenery of the Sky Temple. It was therapeutic for him after his de-corruption. Shinnok needed hobbies to pass the time as his body healed from the purging of the dark powers. He retained some of his former power, save for control of the dead. Fierce yet gentle, the natural way of him Preservation and destruction together The balm of my soul From his seat in the garden, Shinnok watched as Raiden, his former rival turned lover, spar with his wind god brother, Fuujin. Both were shirtless, taking advantage of the beautiful day to train. Shinnok would join them later, after his drawing was finished. He couldn't help but sprinkle poetry here and there. He still had the soul of an artist, a hold over from eons
